Half Nude Thursday

I just don't fee l comfortable saying Nekkid like Orange...maybe at 10% I'm just not redneck enough. And Naked seems Like a cop out...so how about Nude?
Here is my eye...I stole the idea again from orange...but I went with being blinded and showing my eye color.
I'm also showing the bags under my eye. I am so ready for vacation. Speaking of which this may be my last post for a week or so...as we are heading into the frozen north called Michigan for vacation. I would much rather go to the Bahamas...but that was vetoed until the kids quit demanding on going on vacation with us.
Those of you who need or want to talk to me and know my cell number use it (Duffie I know you said you had something to tell me! I hate calling there all the time I worry about waking the baby!)(And Miranda if you call me some morning early...paybacks are a bitch!) Those of you who don't know it...hahahahahaha!

I'm Bored as Hell...
So I decided to steal this off of Redneck's blog. It looked like fun and it could fill a few hours.

A - Available: To babysit...maybe. Anything else, probably not.
A - Age: 35
A - Annoyance: People who interrupt me. Short yellow lights and self righteous cops and prosecutors.
B - Best Friends: Hubby
B - Beer: ICK...No thanks, unless it's in beer dip.
B - Birthday: April 12, 1971
C - Crush: Only Orange, I don't like the grape that much.
C - Car: Well, I'm stuck with a 2000 Ford Windstar minivan. Which I hate. My hubby gets to drive our other car, a 2006 Saturn Ion with CD player, sun roof, port for the iPod cause it gets better gas mileage and he drives 1,000 miles a week. Asshole.
C - Candy: Milk Duds...Even though they have caused me grievous injury as a child. They were frozen and when I tried to bite it, it broke my braces.
D - Day or night: Night, the later the better. Before kids and a responsible job my friends knew not to call me before noon cause I wasn't up yet. I love staying up until 3am.
D - Dream Car: Plymouth Prowler
D - Dog or cat: I love both...though I like that a cat can pretty much take care of itself as long as you feed it and change the litter box. But, they also don't look happy to see you when you walk in the door or give you puppy kisses.
E - Easiest person to talk to: Hubby, has been that was since we first met. Even the silences are comfortable.
E - Eggs: Over medium, I don't like sopping up the yolk with my toast though which my husband informed me was a sacrilege. Does that mean I am going to egg hell?
E - Email: raven44012@yahoo.com is the one I check most often.
F - Favorite Month: Early May. It's usually starting to get warm and it's before the bugs really get started.
F - Favorite color: Purple. I used to have a 98 Dodge Neon that was purple and the license plate said REDNBLU. Many people asked what the plates meant. ...sigh...
F - Favorite Memories: My wedding to hubby. It was short, sweet, and very tender. Then we had great food!
G - Giver or taker: Mainly a giver...with 5 kids you have to be or you will lose your mind.
G - Gum: No thanks, I work on the phone all day and I have a tendency to crack it and blow bubbles. I would sound like one of those operators from the 50's.
H - Hair Color: Mud brown with a silver streak at my temples and another starting at my part. Lucky me.
H - Height: 5'10"
H - Happy: Yeppers.
I - Ice Cream: Oooohh Hagan Daaz Chocolate chocolate chip if I'm bad...Weight Watchers if I'm being good.
I - Instrument: Yeah right. I am not musically inclined. I dropped out of the Recorder when I was in 4th grade. In 8th grade I was asked to please not come back to choir. So now I sing along in the car or with my iPod loud enough so I can't hear myself singing.
I - Idol: Christopher Reeves. He became a hero long after he played Superman.
J - Jewelry: Ooohhh, yes please!
J - Job: Customer Service rep for a book distributor
J - Juice: I like CranApple, CranGrape, Cranberry...just put a Cran in it and I'm pretty much guaranteed to drink it.
K - Kids: Too damn many of them. There are a total of 5 between my hubby and me. The oldest 18 and she just graduated high school and moved out (yipee) The next set are twins who are 14 boy and girl, then my oldest is also 14. The youngest is turning 13 in 2 weeks. So all told it's 5 teenagers. Maybe I should just go back and update my hair color to all gray now.
K - Best kisser: Shhh...don't tell hubby. It was a guy in high school named Brian. First time he kissed me was at a church youth group lock in. I was there with my boyfriend...and it wasn't Brian. It about melted my knees! That kiss started a very long and complicated relationship with Brian that never really resulted in us dating. Oh-well.
K - Kindergarten: Private school, memorizing bible versus...ick
L - Longest Car Ride: From Omaha to Cleveland in one day. This was in the very early 90's...do you know there is not a single McDonald's between Omaha and Des Moines! I really wanted a Sausage McMuffin!
L - Longest relationship: With my hubby. Married for 6 years, together for 7.
L - Last Kiss: From hubby last night, he kisses me before he leaves for Albany.
M - Milk flavor: Ummm...milk? Occasionally I like chocolate.
M - Most missed person(s): My Uncle Rich. I started missing him long before he died. He never really came back from Vietnam and the alcohol started wearing on him in the 90's. It finally killed him by way of liver failure.
M - Movie Last Watched: Lake House. If you like romantic suspense, this is a great movie to see. N - Number of Siblings: One sister. She is cute and smart...now she just needs to have a kid so I can get her back for buying my kids all of those noisy toys.
N - Number of Tattoos: See this post and you can see my tat. I'm thinking of getting another one when I reach my goal weight.
N - Name: The one on my birth certificate says Aimee. My online and pagan name though is Raven.
O - ONE WISH: That hubby could find a job back home that paid halfway decently and we could have a normal boring marriage again.
O - One Phobia: Well, the one that gives me the most problems is Claustrophobia. The walls feel like they are closing in, the floor is moving. Things get closer and closer until I am reduced to a small ball on the floor sucking my thumb and whimpering. They moved the staff meetings to a larger room after this happening a couple of times.
O - One regret: Not tattooing 'Asshole' on my ex-husband's forehead when I had the chance.
P - Pet Peeves: Rude drivers and people who think they are entitled to things.
P - Part of your appearance you like best: I have no clue...it's a work in progress.
Q - Quick or Slow: As slow as you possibly can! ;-)
R - Reason to smile: Children's laughter
R - Reality TV Show: Amazing Race. I just love that show. Maybe cause it goes everywhere I've wanted to and haven't gone yet.
R - Reasons to cry: I don't cry all that often or easily. Death is usually what gets me the worst.
S - Song Last Heard: Ummm...something from the 80's...I don't remember what though.
S - Season: Salt
S - Shoe: 10
T - Time you woke: 7:15am. I didn't have to go to work until 10:30 so I got to sleep in!
T - Time Now: 4:09pm on a Monday afternoon...I'm at work...maybe I should add that to my list of reasons to cry.
T - Time for bed: somewhere between 8pm and 1am. I have problems falling asleep so it could be anywhere in that range.
U love someone: More everyday
U - Unpredictable: According to my hubby yes, according to me...not really.
V - Vegetable you hate: All of them except the following few
V - Vegetable you love: Corn, peas, lima beans, and potatoes. Hubby says these are not veggies but starch. I don't really care.
V - Vacation spot: Las Vegas Baby!
W- Worst Habits: Using sarcasm when I get stressed. This generally gets me in even more trouble.
W- Where are you going to travel next?: Next week going on vacation to Caseville, MI with hubby, kids, and all of the in-laws.
W- Weather right now: Warm and overcast. Waiting for the rain to hit again.
X - X-Rays: a few times, once for a broken finger, a sprained ankle. The worst one though was for a case of pleurisy I had back around '94. God damn tech kept telling me to stand up straight...I couldn't it hurt too much. Lucky that guy didn't come within arm reach or I would have shone him exactly how you can't stand up straight when you are in pain.
X - X-Rated Porn: Nah, not worth the effort to rent then watch and then hide from the children.
Y - Year you were born: 1971, the day after Easter...I told Mary she shouldn't have eaten so much.
Y - Year it is now: 2006
Y - Yellow: Polka dot bikini. Yeah, right...thanks to one child refusing to come out the right way I have a nice scar and several stretch marks I won't show in public.
Z - Zoo Animal: Giraffe!!! They are so cute and gentle.
Z - Zodiac: Aries...hubby says I have authority issues...I think my zodiac explains why.

OK, well that filled up most of my day. A little less than 2 hours to go before I get off work.

Adult's night out
Yesterday was hubby and my 6th wedding anniversary. When my hubby asked me what I would like to do I considered all the options. First I wanted it to just be him and me...that doesn't happen all that often. I also had to take into consideration our inability to stay awake past 10pm. So we decided on going to dinner.
Now first off we live on the west side of Cleveland...there are people here who have never crossed the Cuyahoga River to the other side. Generally west siders stay in the west and east siders stay on the east. We each think our side of the river is better. For me I like the west side because it isn't as snobby and there isn't nearly the amount of snow as on the east side. But, the east side does have some fantastic places to eat...so crossed over.
The place I chose is called The Melting Pot. Check out the link, there may be one near you. I highly recommend this place, but it is expensive. It's basically a fondue restaurant. We had a ball. We had a traditional swiss fondue and then instead of an oil base for the main course we chose one that cooked things in a seasoned broth. It was yummy. Then a chocolate smores fondue. Now this place is locates in a shopping center called Legacy Village. It has several small stores and much larger box stores. After dinner we walked around for awhile just enjoying the night air.
Hubby then asks if I want to go into one of the bars and have a couple of drinks. Let's see, Saturday night, bars, world cup, and claustrophobia...no thanks, I'll pass. I did suggest that we go back to our little town and go to the IHC which was met with great enthusiasm. So of we go. We get to the pub and there was a guy playing the guitar and singing. Generally I don't like the entertainment there, they usually overwhelm the room with sound and you can't talk. This guy though was very good in keep the levels reasonable. Because I go to the pub ever Thursday night I know several people there and they commented on how dressed up I was. I mentioned it was our anniversary...I think we only had to buy one or two drinks all night. The entertainment played some songs for us. We just had a great time. Hubby got soused on 3 heavy handed Long Island Iced Teas. I stayed pretty sober, but was enjoying seeing hubby let go some. We were having such a good time, we look up and it's nearly midnight...how did that happen? We head home and snuggle up in bed.
We both woke up this morning feeling a little headachy but not really worse for the wear. Hubby is a little embarrassed he doesn't remember coming home...but that's ok he had as much fun as I did.
So, for the adult night out we acted like kids...that was a blast!

Pictures of Fritz
As promised, here are pictures of Fritz. Most of them are while he is sleeping as he gets into everything while he is awake and I am too busy to take pictures!

This is Fritz, he turned 3 months on June 15th.

This is Laura and Fritz. He loves to curl up with people and sleep.

This just gives you an idea of how small he is.

Well that's it for now.

Hope you liked the pictures!

Just wondering...
When did we become a nation of entitlements? When did we decide that the government should take care of us? I don't usually comment on political things. I have strong ideas on somethings, but they are mine...I don't expect anyone to agree with me. But tonight I have a bug up my ass. So I decided to vent here.
I was watching season 4 of Quantum Leap tonight. This is one of my favorite shows. If you don't know the premise...this guy is basically time hopping putting things right. So, early in the 4th season they have an episode where he leaps into 1969, during Hurricane Camille. They showed a lot of footage during the show of the actual hurricane. But, after the show, during the closing credits they showed a lot of footage of the aftermath. It was horrible.
Now Katrina was also horrible. But from the research I have some, the people in those areas did not wait for the government to bus them out. They shoved 8 to 10 people (yeah I know they were bigger cars then) in a car and got the hell out of Dodge. They did not wait for the government to come in and feed them, they pooled their resources and everyone got something to eat. They did not wait for the insurance company to get the contractors in there, the neighbors worked on one house at a time until everyone at least had a place to live. They sure as hell did not leave dead bodies on the sides of the road to wait for a news crew to show up. That was someone's child, parent, grandparent laying there and they deserved some respect.
So, when did we decide that the government is responsible for our home and welfare? And what happens when we forget how to take care of ourselves?
