If I ran the world!

If I ran the world it would be illegal for anyone to own a van, SUV, Hummer or any other large vehicle they don't need unless they have over 3 children. Then they are only allowed to have those cars for a the time the kids are living at home. After that, get a reasonable car for gods sake.

Is this REALLY necessary for one or two people??

As soon as my kids go away to college...I'm either getting a Hybrid or one of these...

Unless Ford and GM want to get off their lazy asses and make a decent economical car.

I remember one of my teachers in high school had this way cool looking Euro car that had 1 door in the front of the car that was the only way in. The whole front of the car opened up, it was soooo cool!

Matt - I like small cars and that little one is called a Smart Car. They've been in Europe for quite awhile now. I'll take my chances with the semis.
Sky - I've seen pictures of those...that would be cool too. I'm just tired of people having thses huge ass vehicles with no reason beyond bigger is better. We'll because of their conpumtion, my gas bill is a hell of a lot bigger and I'm not enjoying it. ($35 to fill up a Saturn Ion is just ridiculous.)

I qualify with four kids. But, I could always kick a couple out so I could drive around in that really cool looking toaster.

Nick - Now now...we don't want children's services being called for the sake of getting a smaller car. Because of my 5 kids (well 4 now that the oldest has moved out) have a mini van that I hate. But as soon as I can I'm getting a smaller car.

    Oh, Raven

You have hit on a real thing with me!! I live in Hummer land...

It just pisses me off! First, the waste of fuel. Then, the damn things KILL people. If not, the MAME people. Least important, but equally annoying, is that you can not see around them!

I'm especially mad at Hummers because a middle school boy in my daughter's school was injured so seriously on the way to school by a hummer that broad-sided he and his sister in a rural intersection that he missed almost a full year of school. He will live with his injuries the rest of his life.

Why? So that the driver of a Hummer can have a big ego? Grrrrr!

Hummers are completely unnecessary on our streets.

    Stepping off soap box now...
